Elysium: An OC-Only RP

You wake up in a circle around a sun-dial, lying on the 'ground' - although there is no ground below or, nor sky above you, but just an endless, black void you're all standing in. You have no memories of any time before this, yet a full working knowledge on how to speak, think critically, etc. In other words, you are a being without a childhood.

You're also a God.

There's no one around to call you one (and I'm honestly unsure if you'd know that word, since there isn't any religion here yet) but you can quickly come to the realization that you are the source of, and wield control over, some aspect or other of reality. With these strangers that you've awoken alongside, you can bring some variety, color, and life to an empty world.

But some of you may not be satisfied with this sandbox. Some of you may want answers: how did you get here? How did 'here' come to be in the first place? If you can create life, did something create you? And if so, why did it leave you alone?

Perhaps there are no answers to be found.

Or, more frightfully, perhaps there are.

Rules:
1. Basic RP rules/etiquette.
2. Don't be too overpowered: being a God of something super abstract like 'Reality' or 'Creation' is pushing it. Heck, even 'Space' or 'Time' might be a tad extreme, although the issue is less the 'what' and more the 'how:' I myself am not familiar with power-scaling but try to think of the Classical/Greek Pantheon for inspiration.
3. When writing out what your character is a God of, feel free to pick multiple related things. Following the Greeks, I doubt there's a God of only one thing.
4. Since the start-date of the RP is the beginning of everything, where there's nothing but endless dark, it would make sense for characters that have a direct role in the initial creation to be taken first, like a God of the Earth, the Sky, Land, etc. More particular entities can be requested too, but they'll either only be playable later, or if you'd like them to start at the beginning, pretty much be a God without a portfolio - an 'unawakened' god, for lack of a better term - until the right conditions for whatever they're supposed to be exist. If you want to rip off Dionysus, for example, you can't exactly be a god of wine and partying until there are humans to party and grapes to turn into wine.

Name: Gyrinas
Gender: Male
Appearance: Gyrinas is a 5'5" humanoid figure whose skin is muddy brown, with flakes of dirt and dust constantly falling off of it - with the exception of his forearms and lower legs, which gradually transition into a gunmetal gray the closer you get to the hands and feet respectively. The palms of Gyrinas' hands constantly glow a blazing hot red, like a burning fire (not that that's a thing yet), and the same goes for the bottom of his feet. His eyes are empty sockets, seeming to be as black as the void, and his short hair is a lustrous silver. He also has a short beard of the same color.
Affinity: Gyrinas is the god of the earth, with metals and magma (i.e. molten earth) also falling under his jurisdiction. He can create mountains and valleys with ease, as well as cause earthquakes (and tsunamis by extension) and cause massive volcano eruptions - the latter abilities are also going to earn Gyrinas the dominion of natural disasters whenever that happens, with tornadoes being an exception. Aside from that, Gyrinas has the typical God powers you'd find among the likes of the Greek pantheon - instant teleportation, unlimited shapeshifting, enhanced physical abilities, immortality, and far more aware of the events going on in the world than an average mortal (although not to the point of omniscience).
Personality/Traits: Gyrinas is a rather surly god, preferring to seclude himself and be alone rather than be in the company of his fellow immortals. It'll take quite a bit for him to actually willingly hang out with another immortal, let alone humans whenever they show up. Gyrinas isn't overtly antagonistic, however. Just leave him alone, and he'll leave you alone. Does seem to enjoy himself when he's creating something with his powers. Usually can act as a voice of reason.

Name: Sciverti
Gender: Female
Appearance: Sciverti is a 6'3" humanoid figure, with her body having a feminine hourglass shape as well as being, well...to put it bluntly, ripped. You could grate cheese on her abs, easy. Sciverti has long auburn hair that ends at the middle of her back, and bright, pinkish-red eyes...although they darken to a more crimson shade when Sciverti is enraged. Also, she's getting some armor as soon as its available.
Affinity: Sciverti will come to be known as the goddess of the poles, for her dominion is the two extremes of emotion - tender care and intimacy, and seething hatred. To put it into perspective, she can be defined as the goddess of passion, or the goddess of love and war...sort of. Familial love and marriage doesn't fall under her domain, and actual strategy doesn't fall under her dominion either. Anyway, Sciverti has the ability to rally people under a certain cause with just her voice, as well as move individuals to one of the two extremes she governs over one specific subject. Her presence can also have an effect on people, either giving off an aura of love that causes everyone nearby to be attracted to her, or giving off an aura of such intense hatred that it terrifies those around her and causes them to flee (for good reason). Also has the general god powers I outlined with Gyrinas, with an extra bit of strength above her fellow gods (see: she's ripped).
Personality/Traits: Sciverti is a rather boisterous goddess, putting lots of enthusiasm into everything she does - fun girl to be around most of the time. She enjoys a good fight, as well as more, ah...intimate physical activities. Yeah. Probably the most likely to develop a Zeus issue later on (although thankfully less forceful in her advances). Sciverti is also rather impulsive (fitting, for a goddess of passion), and is probably one of the worst godesses, if not the gods in general, to piss off. Not only can she whip up people into a rage to get rid of you, there's a good chance she'll head off to do it herself, and I doubt I need to explain why having a goddess after your head is a bad thing.

(I doubt anyone knows where this comes from but I should say that this is very heavily inspired by an actual angel found in many Abrahamic religions)

Name: Ophanium

Gender: Male/Female (This'll be explained in a moment). I'll refer to it with male pronouns to keep it simple.

Appearance: Ophanium is rather simple upon first glance. 4 giant golden rings constantly spinning around each other akin to a solar system. Not all are the same size, the first ring is found on the outside and the largest of the four, the second ring is surrounded by the first, the third ring is surrounded by the second, and finally the fourth ring in the center is surrounded by the third. Ring #1 is the largest, then ring #2 is slightly smaller then ring #1 and so on. They sparkle like diamonds held up to the sun. Upon closer inspection there are eyes  found in a neat row encompassing the outside of each of the 4 rings, all separate unique colors. In total there are 92 eyes to be found along the rings, 23 eyes on each ring. 46 eyes are male and 46 eyes are female respectively. Upon even c l o s e r inspection the golden rings are actually blazing with a great raging invisible fire small but concentrated along the surface of the ring.

Affinity: Ophanium is a deity of Ambition and Wisdom(although this wisdom is limited as you'll see soon), which is actually quite blind unless it aligns itself to a cause or person. Ambition can fall under the cause and reason of many things which makes Ophanium quite flexible. Ambition gives Ophanium to power to empower himself and mostly others with rejuvenated energy and purpose to fulfill or give someone or himself that 110% boost in what they believe in. Without purpose or alignment all of the eyes remain closed, but as you guessed when Ophanium as purpose or is aligned to a person/cause the eyes will open up, the rings will also spin faster. Another thing to note, Ophanium can only be aligned with a god or a purpose of a god, until humans are created that is. Now Ophanium being a god of wisdom ties into him being the god of ambition, he can only know all of what he believes in or has believed in. Being a mass of four giant floating flaming rings with eyes across it has its perks you know. For one there are four layers of immortality for Ophanium, representative of each ring, Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, and Physical. Break his spirit, his mind, his feelings, and his body and you have basically left him as a useless hollow shell. Classic teleportation is a good novelty to. Thanks to the invisible flames surrounding its rings Ophanium can raise the temperature to ridiculously high temperatures or to a measly 60 degrees Fahrenheit depending on his ambition. All of the eyes grant him a frighteningly powerful mental hook he'll use to pry open the minds of mortals, when they exist, and even gods if his ambition is powerful enough, but normally he can cause a god little to moderate damage and high amounts of pain, to use this he must peer at the soul of mortal/god with all of his 92 eyes.

Personality/Traits: Despite appearances Ophanium is a very naive and somewhat childish god. Starting out in nothingness has left him empty with no purpose and will likely cling to something someone convinces him of or someone. Once aligned with that person or purpose he will fiercely defend it to the bitter end. This is a double edged sword. Since he's very naive someone could convince him to align himself to them or their cause if they pour in enough effort to wretch him free of his already existing beliefs.

(Name: Morgulla

Gender: Both, referred to as male or female, will constantly switch.

Appearance: A grotesque beast of a creature. It’s skin is a dark purple color and it has glowing tendril-like appendages growing from its back. It has jagged teeth and fangs as well as several eyes on its face. The body has a total of six limbs, each one with a claw attached to it. Upon closer inspection there appear to be distorted faces on the front limbs.

Affinity: Morgulla is the god of monsters, and beasts. He is capable of creating monsters and other abominations from raw materials. These materials can be things such as minerals and plants or even flesh. It can also create monsters from out of nothing. As it is also god of beasts, it is responsible for the creation of many creatures people would consider natural, typically carnivores. It does not create fully sentient life, though some of its creations have basic intelligence. It also has the typical god-powers of the Greek pantheon that Gold outlined, though it typically appears to mortals in its normal form.

Personality/Traits: Morgulla is not a very popular god, seeing as its affinity is to create things that kill, it is unliked by many. It does not mind this lack of communication as it believes it has far better things to do in its time. At the beginning he is a god without a portfolio, most likely. His unpopularity may stem from the fact that many of his creations involve the corruption of another God’s work.


Name: Mirora

Gender: Female

Appearance: Mirora has a light brown ponytail and pointy elf-like ears. Her face is a lightly tanned color and it looks as though most of her skin is made of plant-life. She wears green boots, green gloves, and a green skirt as her choice of clothing. She typically carries a spear with her.

Affinity: Mirora is the goddess of plants, vegetation, and the harvest. She grows many plants using her powers and can easily do so anywhere a plant could grow. She is also capable of growing the plants to a size that will suit the area they exist in. She gives blessings to certain people who need her help during the harvest, allowing for a large bounty of crops. Also typical Greek god-powers.

Personality/Traits: Mirora is a very kind hearted god and delights in watching mortals using her gifts for the good of themselves. However, if someone has invoked her wrath, she will curse them with a terrible season of crops. She enjoys hanging out with other gods and deities when she has the time.

Gender: ha what's a gender lol

Appearance: Ridien is a short boi, being just over four feet tall. Dumb, they know. As the god of day and night, obviously they got a theme going on. They're humanoid, although they have a wispy feel to the ends of their limbs. The top half of them looks all sunny and nice and whatnot, and it fades into the night sky. Around their head, little clouds gather, and a mass of star filled fog floats around their feet. They also glow in the dark, which is pretty cool, except not to them.

Affinity: Ridien is the god of Day and Night, which probably includes the sun and moon unless someone else wants to lay claim to them. Ridien is also a very crabby god, being done with everyone and everything. They prefer to just do their job, and wish Sciverti would stop fucking the mortals and don't seem to particularly like everyone. They snark a lot, and probably have ended up causing more than a few arguements between gods. Despite this, they're actually relatively civil and polite to mortals who encounter them, but immediately start talking shit as soon as they're out of earshot. Their abilities include the basic set Gold's established, they're able to raise and lower the sun/moon, creates stars/constellations in the night sky, and also minor control over tides despite a water deity not existing as I'm writing this. Ridien is also able to manipulate and bend light and shadows, but it seems that they mainly just use it to fuck with others.

Personality/Traits: Ridien is crabby and mean, as aforementioned. They have a limited amount of fucks to give, and when they're not working or dealing with mortals, they're probably snarking about someone. Despite being mean and rude, they're remarkably slow to anger. If they can avoid a social function, you bet they will. They will have a soft spot for cute animals though, once those exist. Probably. Despite them being really rude behind mortals backs, they morally don't agree with actually messing with them face to face. After all, they only say stuff that the mortals would never hear. Actually getting involved personally with them is a whole other issue they don't particularly like.)

(Accepted, although Morgulla and Sciverti might need to 'awaken' later, since their roles aren't as primordial, y'know? Although we could just have all the gods appear at the same time if you want.)

Name: Anahita

Gender: Female

Appearance (be descriptive): she's fucking blue Anahita is about 5'9. she has long dark blue hair that ends at the waist and is covered in bioluminescent algae that glows whenever she walks, but can only really be seen in darker lit areas. She's got darker skin and blue eyes, her eyes almost seem like they could be a neon-blue. They also seem to glow in the dark, but that may just be an illusion. She wears a blue slip, that's all (because clothes are not my strong suit).

Affinity (What you're a god of, and practical abilities): they're the non-existent water deity neon mentioned. She's like Elsa but with water and not ice or a waterbender take your pick. She can make water pretty much wherever, but likes to take it from pre-existing sources as making too much dehydrates her. She can change the temperature of the water, but if it gets too hot/cold she returns it to a normal temperature to avoid either burning herself or accidentally freezing herself (she's done both before). She can also 'melt' into water sources, which would be great for listening in on conversations but she usually just uses it to scare the shit out of the poor soul she's decided to prey on. She can also make rain but it's just normal rain.

Personality/Traits: She's usually a calm and collected person, being quite insightful and a peaceful presence. She can be quite frank, even when the situation calls for anything else. She's quick-witted and has quite the silver tounge. She can also be one hell of a grudge keeper, and when she's already annoyed she has quite the short temper. She has no respect for those who are disrespectful towards the sea/other bodies of water. she does like getting frisky with people who take care of bodies of water though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))

Name: Jivanta

Gender: No gender, will be referred to as they/them

Appearance (be descriptive): they GLOW Jivanta is very tall being 7'5 (scrubs) and they seem to glow. They've got very short blonde hair and bright green eyes. They've got freckles and no discernible mouth, so when they speak it seems like they're speaking into your mind (that's not the case though). They wear a white button up that folded up to the sleeves, and shorts, both are consistently covered in dirt. Their pale as ash skin is also cover in dirt, but it's mostly concentrated around their hands and lower arms. They go barefoot.

Affinity (What you're a god of, and practical abilities): They can make humans/animals! They can control the animals and humans (until the humans gain a free will, then they can only influence them) they've attempted to make other species that are human-like, but have always failed and accidentally made monsters that can also be influenced by morgulla (if phantom is ok with that). They do not have any control of any of the corrupted beings made by Morgulla, which irks them to no end.

Personality/Traits: Jivanta is a very kind being, they love looking over the creations they've made and tend to dislike it when the other gods 'dirty' their work. (If you catch my drift). They don't particularly like any deity but really hate Morgulla for messing with their creations to the point of making them unfixable. They see everything as a project to work on, making them seem distant and detached. If they're doing something they love they'll excitedly work on it for weeks/months/days at a time with no breaks and share it with everyone and everything (excluding Morgulla because of obvious reasons) there is no escape from that and if you let them talk about it they'll go on for hours, maybe even days. )

(Name: Pnevmia

Gender: Female

Appearance (be descriptive): Pnevmia is incredibly tall, being even taller than Jivanta at 8 feet tall. She's really just a skeleton, and wears very flowy robes, kinda like most greek gods. Despite lacking a scalp, she has long black hair, and her eyes are completely black, the same color as her hair. In times when she's using her powers, her eyes will shift to a grey and glow very slightly.

Affinity (What you're a god of, and practical abilities): Pnevmia is the goddess of Death, and so obviously her powers are related to reaping the souls of the living creations of the other gods. I mean really she's just able to kill things and drag their souls to her own realm, but she can also use the souls she's gathered to create grim reaper like beings that can collect souls for her once the job becomes too great for her to handle alone. Her ways to killing can be anything from directly causing crops to die or plagues to spread, or even very slightly influencing natural disasters. She cannot create them, but she can nudge those created without purpose in a certain direction, given that said nudging will actually result in death. Besides the basic god powers, she's also capable of creating and manipulating her own 'small' realm for soul storing, but doesn't display any of the manipulation abilities outside of her realm other than the ones listed above.

Personality/Traits: Pnevmia is a surprisingly upbeat and bubbly god. While she doesn't actually use 'baby talk' on anything but the creations, she usually speaks in an elevated and excited pitch. Despite being death, she's one of the brightest personalities besides life, cherishing everyone else's creations and wanting to keep them forever and ever. Of course, everyone has a breaking point. Pnevmia's is quite hard to reach under normal circumstances, but unnecessary violence can quicken the speed one may reach it. When she does finally lose her temper, she's not very loud. No, instead she's full of cold fury, dropping her voice back down to it's natural state and making very threatening statements. Times when she's acting like this is most oftenly when she'll go commits mass killings, and often it's just best to leave her alone and let her calm down instead of attempting to intervene, lest her anger be turned on you. In lieu of getting angry, she's surprisingly quick to tears. Especially when someone decides to point out for someone who really likes the creations, she seems a little too happy about killing them.)

The Gods wake up nowhere. Literally nowhere. A darkness is all around them.

If they travel too far away from one another, they can hear faint whispers.

"Whuh?  Wha's going on?"  Mirora asked, looking around the darkness warily.

Jivanta does not waste time with niceties sits down, obviously in a state of thought.

Anahita does 'waste' time on niceties, "I'm not sure to be honest, but it doesn't seem to be dangerous."

(Keep in mind they are only just coming into existence, so they will need to introduce themselves to each other and also maybe react to the fact that 'oh shit i exist now')

"Oh okay." Mirora is silent for a moment, before she starts yelling. "AAAAAAAAAAAA! What the heck is going on?!" Oh gosh she's flailing around now.

"I hAVE NO IDEEEEAAAAA" Anahita joins in.

"Shut up please." Jivanta looks up and is annoyed, "some of us are mature and realize that it probably doesn't even matter."

The panic from Mirora and Anahita doesn't only annoy Jivanta - Gyrinas, who was examining his glowing palms and looking over his body in general, shoots the flailing goddesses an annoyed glare, his empty eye sockets managing to convey his irritation as well as actual eyes would.

Thankfully for both the life and earth god, the panic is about to be cut short.

Hearty laughter comes from behind the two goddesses, then they're grabbed and pulled close by a pair of strong arms.

"Is it not obvious?" Pinkish-red eyes twinkle in the light, a grin crossing the face of the goddess of the poles. She lets go of one of her quarry to sweep her right arm across the empty void as she continues. "This is but the beginning of something glorious!"

Sciverti's confident expression then slips into earnest confusion for a moment, but goes back to confidence halfway through her sentence. "...admittedly, I'm not quite sure what that entails, but I'm certain it's good!"

"AAAAAAA STRANGER DANGER STRANGER DANGER!" Mirora flailed even more. Probably not the best way to calm them.

"Erm, I think so." Mirora appears to have calmed somewhat.
