"And where are you right now?" Yuri asks, looking around her area to see if she can spot a street sign.

Pit sighs in relief as soon as Joker turns his attention elsewhere. Good, good, that worked...probably.

In the meantime, the lobster girl is currently looking at the signs Joker pointed out curiously, tilting her head and squinting a bit as she does so.

Yuri nods. "Alright...I'm going to try to figure out where you are with some guesswork and my phone. I'll see you later, alright?"

Joker turns back to Pit, hinting at the possibility of Pit possibly being a horrible liar. "I'm really not as stupid as you think. Would you like to try again?"

"Was that your friend?" Pink-haired armless woman asked Sayori.

"Well, that's good. And she was having a similar situation?" The armless woman asked.

And as soon as Sayori hangs up, Yuri starts to search on her phone.

"So...success?" Ajna asks, looking at Yuri with a hopeful grin.

"I-I think so," Yuri nods, rapidly typing away at her phone. "Sayori's description of these people definitely sound like people from other universes, and while she didn't give me an exact location, I should be able to figure it out from what she told me in just a few moments..."

Pit freezes up, and looks like he's going to be completely irresponsive like he was for a few moments when Joker first asked, but then...

"Hey, Pit? I'm thinking of trying something with the connection I've established with you here, do you mind?" Palutena suddenly asks in Pit's head.

"Oh! Uh, no, go ahead!" Pit answers, completely forgetting that Joker's right in front of him.

"Thank you! You might want to close your eyes, though; you're going to be a lightbulb for a little bit, Palutena remarks.

"Wait, wha-" Is all Pit manages to get out before his body suddenly glows with an intense blue light that seems practically blinding for the moment it's there. Thankfully, it fades in a few seconds...but not for Joker. For Joker, the blue light stays in his vision well beyond when it does for everybody else, and when it does fade...

"Testing, testing, is this on?" Joker can now hear Palutena's voice ringing in his mind, although she seems completely nonchalant about the situation. "Ah, good, it worked! Don't worry, you're not going insane; you just have a goddess of light in your head. Trust me, you won't be alone on that front soon enough; you just happen to be the guinea pig since you've been pestering Pit so much. Lucky you! Speaking of...

"As admirable as Pit is attempting to be here, you're going to find out eventually, so I'm just going to go ahead and rip off the band-aid: your universe and your very existence is tied to a video game. Our universe is too, it's just that the divine have the privilege of knowing about it. You'll have to forgive Pit, here; part of his evasiveness is that I've had it grilled into him that that he shouldn't tell anyone under any circumstances because mortals don't take that knowledge very well, and...they don't. The usual response is depression, insanity, using that knowledge to somehow bend the rules of the universe and become near unstoppable, forming a cult, or some combination of the four. Very rarely something that doesn't fall into one or more of those categories. The only reason Pit was talking about it at all here is that this is a different universe where our games are sold, so he couldn't exactly hide that we're from a video game. The other part of it is that we know an alternate version of you from a crossover game, but we can't exactly get into that.[i]

"Hope you're satisfied with that! See ya!"

And with that, Palutena's voice - her presence - is gone.

Pit rubs his eyes and blinks, looking up a bit when he feels Palutena's presence return to him. "What did you just do?"

"Tested something and solved your problem in one fell swoop! You're welcome, by the way." Palutena off-handedly comments. "Also, I'm going to need to do that again later, so...yeah. Just warning you now."

"She... didn't say, actually. But it's typical of Yuri! Don't worry!"

Sayori nervously giggled and put her phone back in her pocket.

The girl began to twirl her parasol in her hand.

"Sounds good."  Sera nodded.  

The leather-clad woman shrugged.  "So uh, I don’t think I have all of your names.  I’m Sarah."

Pit can probably see a brunette boy wearing a gray coat approaching Joker from behind. "Joker..." He draws out, "...why am I not surprised to find you in the heart of all of this chaos?" He sneers. He stops two feet behind Joker, waiting for him to turn around.

Different universes...

Wait, if that was the case - if this wasn't just his reality reset, if he had found some other 'version' - maybe there was an alternate version of him out there? With a name, a face, an identity....

The prospect was exciting. He looked over briefly towards Yuri, wondering if he should ask about someone similar-looking. Diverting his gaze, he decided against it.

The creature with the mind of a rat made it's way to a storm drain, and waits.

Joker really doesn't know how to take the info dump from Palutena, but for now his response just seems to be to take it in stride and deal with it later.

For now though, Joker turns towards the brunette. "In my defense, it's not because of a stupid decision this time."

"Surprisingly so." Akechi comments. "Do you have any information about this fiasco, or must I search elsewhere for answers?"

"I sense a tension between these two." Armless woman raises an eyebrow.

The Fawn chirps and limps over to them. "Yay! New friends!" The human-deer abomination giggled.

"Tough luck, I doubt anyone does. We've just been standing around while someone called her friend. Ah, wait, I forgot, you don't know what a friend is. How rude of me to assume you've ever had any."

"Okay, you two, we get it, you never got love from your parents so you have to have a dick Waving contest. Don't hold it in public, we have bigger issues."
He was oblivious to how pertinent that comment was.

Akechi glares straight into Joker's eyes. "Must we? Now of all times?" He shakes his head. "No matter. If no one knows what's going on, then I might as well stay right here." Akechi folds his arms.

Sayori, in sharp contrast to her normally cheery demeanor, now seemed... oddly disturbed?

"Said it before, but my name's Vanessa. Call me Vannie, though. With an I-E if you're concerned about spelling."

"Alright, I don’t particularly care how it’s pronounced though."  Sarah shrugged.

"Me Seth!"  Seth grins.

"Why are you fighting?" The Fawn tilts her head at Joker and Akechi, looking a little worried.
